our predictions have been confirmed, Hong Kong people are really hungry for high-quality music.. The best proof was our last Resonant Frequencies event on 12th of December, when Tom Clark kept Hong Kong’s music lovers dancing until the sun came out again!

Now Resonant Frequencies is happy to present Todd Bodine on 6th of March with an exclusive live-set for Hong Kong! As a Globetrotting DJ/producer as well as a regular at Berlin’s legendary clubs Panoramabar/ Berghain, Watergate and Tresor and co-owner of the respected Berlin based Highgrade label, Todd Bodine explores the area between minimal house and techno. Minimal house and techno often tends to be static and cold, but Todd gently reveals the many facets of minimal music by a forward-thinking production, loads of warmth and a thick, groovy vibe.

Exactly what the minimal fanatics, but also all of the Detroit freaks in town will love! As stated by Resident Advisor, "a meeting of peak time euphoria with the relaxing bliss of the hazy morning light”… Todd Bodine will be supported by Highgrade’s high-calibre artist Markus Homm as well as Hong Kong’s long-established and highly-respected AKW.

Such a line-up needs a special venue: Resonant Frequencies will take place again in Space, the recently opened club in "The Hennessy", the new landmark building on Hennessy Road 256 in Wan Chai, 6 floors below Wooloomooloo (entrance around the corner on Johnston Road, MTR: Wan Chai station exit A4 / Taxi: 5 mins. from Central).

Todd Bodine

Born in Berlin, Todd Bodine is a musical child par excellence of Germany’s capital of electronic music. Strongly influenced by the atmosphere after the fall of the Berlin wall he took his first credits as a resident DJ in the world famous Tresor Club. The place where he performs his action loaded DJ-sets once a month until today.

But that’s just one side of Todd’s musical activities, being a DJ on the floors of international known clubs in Barcelona, Paris, Tokyo or Rio de Janeiro, just to name a few. Beside this career he is active as a producer since the year 2001 - and that with great success. At the beginning stood releases on the Berlin based Cabinet Record, followed by releases on Tom Clark’s Highgrade Records, the Swiss Morris Audio label and last but not least: Tresor Records. With Tom Clark he shares a long-term creative friendship, which is by all means not the only reason why Todd Bodine is an essential part of the Highgrade-artists-family, thus being one of the most profilic musicians from that label.

In March 2007 it was about time to take the next level of putting his musical visions into practice. After half a year of preparing it, Todd began to perform as live act. He started this with a big bang - with playing live at Berlin’s finest - the Panorama Bar. Another very successful project of Todd was born. So he plays for instance both as a live act and as a DJ across many floors all over Europe on the ‘Our Thing’ club tour 2008 to the Highgrade jubilee. In October 2009 Todd Bodine published his latest album ‘Forms’, which is described by Resident Advisor as "a meeting of peak time euphoria with the relaxing bliss of the hazy morning light," the album promises the aural equivalent of a night-before-and-morning-after club experience.

Without a doubt Todd Bodine has his own place in the rows of Berlins most important producers - on the one side as a heavily booked DJ, on the other side as a creative producer or as an energetic live performing artist - whatever he is about, it has to rock!

Markus Homm

Markus Homm was born in Romania and moved to Germany with his family as a child. In 2001 he had his first DJ gig in Nuremberg, Germany. He quickly made a name for himself. Many other domestic and international appearances followed. One of the gigs took him to Romania, his former homeland. He was so thoroughly impressed by the club scene there that he decided on the spot to get involved.

In 2004 he opened a record shop in Sibiu together with other DJ friends. At that time, he continued to develop his own style, a combination of deep house and tech house. He achieved a solid position in the techno scene, and his tracks were played on various radio shows and DJ sets. In the meantime, Markus lives in Moscow and Hong Kong.

His intercultural experiences flow into his own tracks and remixes which he produces with his partner Mihai Popoviciu.

AKW

For more than 10 years, AKW has been one of the leading DJs on the underground circuit in Hong Kong. It’s an eclectic approach that has won AKW slots as supporting act for a wide variety of top international DJs such as Sasha, Christopher Lawrence, Deadmau5, Kentaro, Meat Katie and Paolo Mojo.

Currently AKW, together with Hong Kong’s No 1 local DJ Frankie Lam under their Foundation One partnership hosts events where they explore the deeper side of dance music. And as an organiser of large-scale dance music events, AKW helps promote Hong Kong’s most respected DJs as well as A-list international performers.
